The forth Spanish-Portuguese-Japanese Organic Chemistry Symposium (4SPJ-OCS) will be held in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, from Friday, September 8 through Monday (noon) September 11, 2006. The Welcoming Reception will be on September 8, 2006.

The aim of this Symposium is to bring together Spanish, Portuguese and Japanese scientists working in academia or industry in Organic Chemistry and related fields to favor their collaboration and encourage their mobility. This meeting is a continuation of previous Spanish-Japanese Organic Chemistry Symposia (SJ-OCS) with the incorporation of Portugal (see background).

The Symposium will be held at the 510-year-old University of Santiago de Compostela. Participants and accompanying persons will be housed in the hall of residence “Residencia Universitaria Monte da Condesa”, which is located on the University South Campus, 15 minutes' walk from the town centre. Breakfast and lunched will also be served.

Santiago de Compostela, a city of 100.000 inhabitants, is located in the northwest of Spain. It is served by an international airport, 15 Km from the South University Campus. Santiago is the capital of the Spanish Autonomous Community of Galicia.

The first meeting of the Symposium will be an inaugural reception on Friday evening. The scientific sessions will began on Saturday morning and will take place in the University Auditorium, located on the South Campus. The Symposium will end on Monday at 1:30 PM. English will be the official language of the Symposium.
