The following social and cultural events are programmed for the participants on the 4SPJ-OCS. Friday, September 8 7:00 PM: Welcoming Reception 8:15 PM: visit to the cathedral in which participants will be welcomed as pilgrims and the botafumeiro, an giant censor, will be swung in an impressive ceremony, including organ music. Saturday, September 9 8:00 PM: Symposium Party featuring regional bagpipe music and dancing, and a local delicacy, pulpo á feira (octopus). The Party will resemble traditional Galician popular “romerías” and will take place in the Alameda Park located next to the University South Campus. Other events will be detailed in the documentation upon arrival. |
