Welcome to the website of the ICSE2014 conference organized by the research group SPERTUS from the Department of English and German at the University of Santiago de Compostela.
The aim of this conference is to bring together scholars engaged in the analysis of spoken English from a wide range of both theoretical and applied perspectives. Particular emphasis will be placed on such general areas as the differences between spoken and written English, interpersonal and textual issues, multimodality, second/foreign language teaching and oral skills, varieties of spoken English, among others (for a more complete list of suggested topics, see full call for papers). A variety of presentation formats – including full papers, posters, workshops or round tables – are envisaged in order to accommodate different interests and provide discussion space for research at different stages of development. Full details of the academic and the social programme of the conference will be posted on this website, which will be regularly updated. Do not hesitate to write to us (firstname.lastname@example.org) to request any information that you may need to plan your visit.
We hope we will meet you in Santiago next June!
