ConCiencia - Program of Scientific Popularization 2011
Once again this year Santiago welcomes a host of famous personalities with great scientific significance from around the world.
First-class scientists from all around the world, all recipients of the Nobel Prize, will be in the city throughout this year
The program ConCiencia, organized by the University of Santiago de Compostela and the Consorcio de Santiago, arrives to its sixth edition, being one of one of the activities of scientific popularization of higher social impact in Galicia.
Among the objectives of this initiative, three key points are:
- Popularization of science by world-class scientists.
- Projecting the image of Santiago de Compostela as a focal point of intellectual activity.
- Promoting contacts between these top scientists and researchers of the USC.
These objectives make the ConCiencia programme different from any other initiative of scientific popularization: apart from a public lecture or specific event, it aims at taking advantage of the visit of the invited scientist, favoring his/her contact with local specialists.
