Rectorship

Received his bachelor’s degree from USC in 1972. Doctor in Chemistry from the Universidad Autónoma in Barcelona and PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Salford (England). After working in the early 1980’s at the University of Petroleum and Minerals in Saudi Arabia, he returned to USC as Senior Lecturer. He held a chair in chemical engineering at the universities of Seville and Cantabria, was head of results analysis at ENDESA (1989-1992), Director of the Center for Supercomputing of Galicia (1993-1997), and directed the Center for Environmental Technology  and Information of the Government of Galicia (1997-2001). He has held a chair in chemical engineering at USC since 1992.
