
The main aim of the Erasmus Mundus is to achieve mutual enrichment and better understanding between European Union and Developing countries via cooperative programmes that enable exchange of people knowledge and skills within the field of Higher Education.

USC takes part in EXPERTS project targeted to citizens of Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Thailand. The priority fields of study are Agricultural Sciences, Business Studies and Management Sciences, Engineering, Technology, Geography, Geology; Natural Sciences, Law and Social Sciences. All levels of study will be covered by the project.
The CENTAURI project is a project designed to support Central Asian Universities in need of Research and Innovation. The main objectives of the project are thus: to foster capacity building in departments of research and development; to support the planning of sustainable cooperation; to facilitate mobilities that improve university management; to enhance joint research programs and bilateral agreements for further collaboaration.
Consistently, prioritises all mobilities providing a clear and tangible impact in domains related to research and cooperation and to the development of joint research initiatives and business opportunities through joint research initiatives in all the priority field areas with special emphasis on environmental studies, agrarian studies, engineering and technology, business-management and social sciences. In total, 88 mobility flows are expected given priority to PhD and academic staff.
The EMUNDUS20 project leaded by Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea was approved in Novermber of 2009. 117 students and academic staff from Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua will benefit from this project performing a period of mobility in one of the European universities belonging to the consortium, while 30 European beneficiaries will spend their mobility period in one of the South American partner universities.
The EMUNDUS20 grants cover mobilities in all study levels: Undergraduate, Master, Doctorate, Post-doctorate and Academic Staff. Priority areas of study are: Agricultural Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Mathematics and Informatics, Architecture and Urban Planning, Medical Sciences, Teacher Training and Social Sciences, but also students and staff from other study areas may eventually benefit from an EMUNDUS20 grant.

This is an opportunity to spend one semester, one year, or more to study in one partner university from Europe, for students and partner-university staff from Bangladesh, Cambodia, Philippines, India, Pakistan, with possibly some from other countries from the Asia region: Afghanistan, Bhutan, Myanmar/Burma, Nepal, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Maldives, North Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand. To the following European partner universities METU (Ankara-Turkey), B1 (Bordeaux-France), ITC (Enschede-Netherland), RKUH (Heidelberg-Germany), UNS (Nice-France), USC (Santiago de Compostela-Spain), LBUS(Sibiu-Romania), UNIPD (Padova-Italy), UW (Warsaw-Poland).
