MAEC- AECI grants support -via the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs- the training, generally at postgraduate or predoctoral levels for young foreign and Spanish university graduates (and in some cases students).
These grants are managed by the Cultural and Scientific Relations Office of the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation (AECI) (which is dependent on the Ministry), via the Grants, Readers and Exchange Office. The grants are available to foreign citizens to carry out studies in Spain, and to Spanish citizens to carry out studies in foreign countries.
The call for MAEC- AECI grant applications is published once a year and is open to all countries in the world. It is important that potential candidates read the entire text of the call for applications and the corresponding conditions very carefully. Each of the different MAEC-AECI grant programmes, grouped in chapters, has a specific profile that describes who the programme is aimed at, the economic value of the grant and the specific requisites, which must be consulted carefully by potential candidates.
