International USC

SICUE is the Spanish acronym for the System of Exchange between Spanish University Centres, organized by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science, via the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE).

In July 1999 the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE) approved the SICUE document that outlined a system of student exchange to enable students to carry out part of their studies at Spanish universities other than the home university, with guarantees as regards academic recognition and progress, as well as adaptation to their curriculum.

The Ministry of Science and Innovation then created the “Séneca” programme to provide help for university students in terms of mobility, to support the mobility system approved by the CRUE, by organizing a system of grants and aid for exchanges.

The aim of these is to foster mobility of students between Spanish universities to enable students to carry out some of their studies at a university other than the home university.
