“Ramón Mª Aller”Astronomical Observatory

The University of Santiago de Compostela has an Astronomical Observatory (http://www.usc.eres/astro), since 1943 founded by the eminent astronomer Ramón Mª Aller, when he moved his telescopes and books from Lalin. Today, this Center is scientifically managed by a research team from the USC with a high international profile , particularly in the field of double and multiple stars and, in addition to teaching, it has extensive outreach programs available to the public.

Nowadays, the Observatory holds one of the largest national telescopes within the university field, a complete library and a weather station which also stands out for its beauty.
