Galician emigrants' children have the same consideration and rights than Galician residents' children as it is defined in:
Statute of Galicia (art. 3.2)
As Galician, those Spanish citizens resident abroad that had had their last administrative neighborhood in Galicia and prove this condition in the corresponding Spanish Consulate enjoy political rights defined in this Statute. Their descendants registered as Spanish will also enjoy these rights, if they request it as it is stated by the State law

Due to the existence of a natural and linguistic community, beyond the limits of the current Galician Autonomous Region, the University of Santiago de Compostela will acknowledge for the Galician emigrants and their children the same rights as for the Galician residents, in the terms included in the art. 3.2 of the Galician Autonomous Region Statute.
El acceso a la universidad española de los alumnos procedentes de sistemas educativos de estados miembros de la Unión Europea o los de otros estados con los que se hayan suscrito acuerdos internacionales aplicables a este respecto, en régimen de reciprocidad, siempre que dichos alumnos cumplan los requisitos académicos exigidos en sus sistemas educativos para acceder a sus universidades.
Students who can be admitted to a foreign university from a non-EU country or that have not signed any agreement to recognize university entrance requirements will apply for the corresponding validation of their high school education and/or of the subjects of their examinations and then take the entrance examinations.
Partial validations of university studies are requested in the corresponding university and, in case that only one subject is not validated, entrance examinations will be taken.
