Cooperation programmes and initiatives

  • PCI. Programme for Interuniversity cooperation and scientific research between Spain and other countries.
  • MAEC-AECID grants. Grants from the Ministry of External Affairs and Cooperation, for foreign and Spanish citizens. These are aimed as training, exchanges, visits and stays: Spanish Agency for International Cooperation.
  •  Banco Santander/USC grants. The USC has created a call for predoctotal grants for teachers and researchers from South America. The aim of the programme is to respond to one of the current greatest demands from South American centres, i.e. training of PhD students. This initiative will also promote and strengthen the important academic and research links between the USC and these countries.
  • Erasmus Mundus External  Cooperation Windows. Promotes international cooperation between Higher Education institutions in the European Union and in other countries, especially by facilitating mobility between institutions. These actions will be of mutual benefit as a result of the enrichment brought about by the relationships and improved understanding between people from different countries.
  • Tempus. Promotes multilateral cooperation between institutions, authorities and Higher Education organizations in the EU and other countries. Also aimed as the reformation and modernization of Higher Education.
  • Alfa III. The ALFA programme is aimed at cooperation between Higher Education institutions in the European Union and the following 18 South American countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.
