Description

The Legal Advice Service of the USC supports the University Governing Organs as well as the representation and defence of this Institution in Courts.

Because of the management and transaction of affairs a high knowledge in rules is required. For this reason the Legal Advice Service assumes specific ordinary management and consultation tasks of other University units so it cannot be totally devoted to its own tasks.

The existence in the University units of staff qualified in administrative management allows the Services, Sections and Offices to adopt entirely the competencies in these activity areas under the supervision and coordination of a member of the Rectoral Team. He/she will be in charge of the advice and report requests which are submitted to the Legal Advice Service with the aim of rationalizing its functions while prioritizing its legal proceedings in those affairs which really need it.

The Cabinet for the Legal Advice Service of the USC is the representative organ of the Institution before the Court and Tribunal and it coordinates the legal defence of the University.

It also provides legal advice to the governing organs of the University and legal support to the other organs, units and centres of the University. On this assumption the guidance will be provided by a member of the Rectoral Board.

The activities mentioned in the previous paragraph will be coordinated and supervised by the Rector, the General Secretary or, when necessary, the Rectoral Board, who will be informed about the state of the transition or the obtained results.
