Development Unit

 

The ICT Area, from its Development Unit, approves and conducts the developments of management computer applications and platforms needed by the USC areas.

Application development and maintenance can be done by the ICT Area staff, Unixest or other businesses outside the USC.

The main corporate applications the USC provides to the university community are:

Academic Management Application (Xescampus)

The Xescampus Academic Management application covers academic offer management and academic management procedures of the studies of 1st, 2nd, 3rd cycle and official Postgraduate courses.

Among the academic management procedures it is worth pointing out:

  • Registration, transcript processing, certificates and qualifications of the studies offered.
  • Economic management of academic processes: financial assistance, subsidies, collections of payment, refunds, delays...

The application has several access portals according to the user´s profile: PDI Virtual Secretary Office, Student Virtual Secretary Office, PAS administrative interface.

Staff Management Application

Computer system for the management of human resources and payment of all the USC staff.

Financial Management Application (eSicus)

The eSicus is a project which tries to include all the University Financial Management in just one computer application.

It intends to adapt to the new needs of the USC: Increase of the number of users and their access control, Database centralization, web interface,...

It is also important the relationship with the new services provided by the USC, both to its own staff (Portal of Directors of Expenses Centres) and other staff (Portal of Suppliers).

Research Management Application (Virtual OIT)

 USC researchers have a web application, the Virtual OIT, from which they can implement the following actions:

  •  Application for USC Financial Assistance
  •  Updating of the Catalog of Researchers and Research Groups
  •  Inquiries on the financial state of R & D Activities
  •  Certification of the expenses of R & D activities
  •  Payment application to External Collaborators
