The UIC provides access to car parks with barrier located in Santiago campus. By simply approaching the card to the proximity reader installed in the entrance pole, without contact, access is granted.
This access system requires users to have an identity university "contactless" chip card. Externally, simple cards (non-associated to a bank account in the SCH) with chip are identified by the position of the INC and IN numbers, on the right of the card, near the photograph. Valid mixed cards (associated to financial services) are those issued from September 2005.
It is necessary to activate the contactless chip card to be used in the car parks. Thus, you should go to the University Information Points (PIUs), insert the card into the reader and follow the instructions on the screen (check the location of PIUs in the section Information queries of the UIC).
Claims and occurrences must be provided in the ocurrence form of the User Assistance Centre http://www3.usc.es/USCincidencias; or either, alternatively, via the following e-mail address cau@usc.es or by telephone, on the extension 55555.
With this access model, the USC aims to facilitate the entrance/exit operations in car parks. In this way, producing the card in front of the reader without approaching so much to the pole is more comfortable for users. On the other hand, it also tries to control cards, which were being used without being controlled, by people outside the university community, thus having repercussions on the shortage of car park vacancies. From now on, each person is provided with a single activated card; if the card is lost, it will be disabled as soon as its replacement is activated.
Take into account that access to car parks is reserved for authorized groups. Currently, these include Teaching and Research Staff, Administrative and Service Staff, Researchers and Teaching Collaborators.
Authorization for non-members of the university community
The vicerectorate of University Community and Social Commitment can authorize the use of car parks to people outside the USC rendering services related to the maintenance and functioning of the university.
The USC responsible for the service or premises must sign the authorization request available on the link below. The responsible for the company rendering the services or the interested person must also sign. Check the instructions for obtaining temporary cards providing access to car parks .
