Breogán Infant School

The Breogán Infant School was set up in 1978 by a group of parents, teachers, students and administrative and service staff of the USC. They managed to get from the academic authorities the assignment of facilities in the central pavilion of the Burgo das Nacións, as well as inner distribution with wood panels, floor carpeting, equipment with tables, chairs and a few resources for didactic material. In June 1985 the Governing Board approved the integration of the School as USC Service. In 1988, due to the construction of the Auditorio de Galicia, the building we are now occupying was equipped.

In 1992 the Governing Board adopted the current Internal Regulations and children ages are reduced from 0 to 4 years-old. (1^st cycle of Infant Education and first year of the second cycle of Infant Education).

One of the most significant problems of society nowadays is the conciliation of working life with personal and family life. In this sense, the USC develops a primary task through the Breogán Infant School. The Vice-rectorship for Students and Continuing Education, within the framework of the USC institutional commitment in social responsibility actions, and of active conciliation policies of working life with personal and family life of all members of the university community, makes a yearly announcement of the maximum number of vacancies allowed due to the conditions of the Breogán Infant School of the University of Santiago de Compostela.

The Breogán Infant School will be open throughout the year from 8 in the morning to 8 in the evening, except in August when it will be closed. Over the holidays of Easter and Christmas (period between Christmas Eve and Epiphany) it will be open from 9:00 to 15:00 hours.

In July the timetable will be adapted to guarantee the compliance of the staff timetable, which according to Article 43º of the current Collective Bargaining for the staff will be 25 hours of real work, so the timetable in July will be from 9:00 to 14:00 hours.
