Copyright and Related rights

Copyright is a set of rules and principles regulating the rights granted by law to authors of literary, artistic, scientific or didactic works. These can be published or unpublished. In English Common Law the term "copyright" is used.

Together with authors, other participants in the creative process such as artists or performers enjoy specific rights, such as the  Related rights to copyright .

The recognition of these rights has moral and property components . They can be managed individual or collectively.

Works enter the public domain when property rights have expired. This usually happens after a lenght of time since the death of the author. Then, works can be freely used, respecting the moral rights. Further information
