The USC University Hospital Complex is integrated into the Galician network of Public Health Care System. It comprises four hospital centres located in Santiago de Compostela:
The Decree 71/1993 18 March (Xunta de Galicia) defends the necessity of creating this hospital so as to achieve a first class institution that efficiently pomotes an optimum of health care through the coordination of the centres and its multiple organizational units. The vantage comes just when the hospitals and sevices work as a joint unit.
The Clinical Hospital keeps a close contact with the Faculty of Medicine. It has a long and rich tradition in the training of professional doctors.
The research and teaching capacity in the Complex, in accordance with high levels of specialization, make the Complex a Centre of reference in the Galician Autonomous Region and in the rest of Spain.
