The RUSSIAN LANGUAGE belongs to the Slavic family of Indo-European languages. The Modern Language Centre at USC introduced studies of RUSSIAN LANGUAGE in 1986. The first teacher was Helena Krivan (Prague), subsequently, from 1990 to 1996 she was replaced by Katerina Vlasakova (Prague), from 1996 to 2002 the classes were taught by Nina Makarova from St. Petersburg, from 2002 to 2005 the duty was taken by Ekaterina Guerbek from the same city and finnaly since 2005 up until 2012 by Katerina Vlasakova again and from 2012 ba Aleksandra Kaverina.

Currently we offer semestral courses and intensive summer courses. All the courses are organized according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Welcome to the Modern Language Centre (CLM)

The Modern Language Centre of the University of Santiago de Compostela would like to welcome all foreign students who will be studying with us this coming course in our Santiago Campus or our Lugo Campus.

Almos three thousand students learn modern languages, or improve their competency in the chosen language, at the CLM. All of our professors have enjoyed long professional careers teaching a foreign language and our center also offers many resources to aid language learning.
