    Competence
After having passed the subject, students must be qualified to recognize the different situations of advanced disease in situation of palliative cares, symptomatology, its complexity and the way to treat it. They will handle and will know how to interpret the different scales used for measuring pain and other symptoms (dyspnea…) and to take decisions as well as the global attention of the patient and his/her family as unit to be treated (biopsychosocial).
    Teaching methodology
Two hours per week of theoretical teaching will be given along the second term of the academic year aimed at facilitating and guiding the acquisition of the theoretical knowledge through master classes supported with the appropriate audiovisual material.
The teaching will be complemented with theoretical-practical seminars for the complete learning of the subject.

    Assessment system
It will consist of a test-type exam, with five optional answers and only one correct one, requiring 65% of all the questions to pass.
    Study time and individual work
The subject consists of a total of 4,5 credits, 3 theoretical and 1,5 practical which means 30 contact hours and 15 practical hours, besides the necessary hours for the assessment and the test-type exams.
It is estimated a total workload of 120 hours.

Recommendations for the study of the subject
The guide provided at the beginning of the course is considered useful to follow in a correct way the development of the subject’s contents. Regular attendance to the theoretical and theoretical-practical classes is essential as well as consulting the recommended bibliography for the preparation of the thematic contents.
