Can Quantum Mechanics be deterministic at the Planck Scale?

Abstract:
A scenario that is deterministic at the Planck scale is described. It is explained how such a theory may generate quantum mechanical behavior at the atomic scale, and how Bell's inequalities can be violated by its atomic degrees of freedom.
