Main rules for authors of AEID and RSES. Updated September of 2018
In order to avoid delays in evaluation and communications, the following rules must be respected. Please check the status page regularly: http://www.usc.es/economet/status.htm |
1) Submissions, acknowledgment and acceptance since September of 2018 for publication in 2019-2020. Currently journal AEID, after 20 years of academic success, is expected to reach its goals and to finish publication in year 2020. Regarding journal RSES we expect to publish it at least until the end of 2020. 1a) Submissions to the mail of our Association: Articles for years 2019 and 2020, related with economic development and with the main lines of these journals, should be submitted to the mail of our Association: euroamericanassociation@gmail.com, in Word.doc or Word.docx. 1b) Authors from subscribed institutions: they may submit articles, all around the year, usually with a limit of 2 articles per author (or 3 articles per institution) and year, and they usually receive a message from the Editor with a first evaluation in one month. Acceptances are updated, at Status, each 2 or 3 months. 1c) Authors from non subscribed institutions: They may submit articles in the following dates January-March for the first semester and July-September for the second semester, usually with some limits (1 article per author each 2 years, 2 articles per institution and year, a limited number of articles from a same country per year). If the article fits to the rules we usually acknowledge receipt within one and two months after submission and if the article reaches enough priority for publication we usually announce it as accepted, at the Status section, within 3 months after submission. If authors do not receive a message with acknowledgment in 2 months, it usually means that the article does not fit to the rules and will not be published. After 2 months from submission, authors may request information by sending a message to the mail of our Association. |
2) Rules for article contents: We usually send a first evaluation before two months when the article fits to the following rules. 2a) Main contents and conclusions. The main priority of our journals is economic development and not only the application of econometric tests. It means that articles should include conclusions of interest for economic policies. UROOT, cointegration and other tests results usually should not appear in the main text but they may be included in an online Annex. Number of pages of the printed edition should usually be between 8 and 14 pages in the journal format (size 18 cm wide and 25 cm heigh, with margins of 2 cm in all directions: up, down, left, right). On line Annexes may include other supplementary contents. 2b) Data visibility: selected tables and/or graphs with figures of the main variables and clear definition of variables, units of measurement and sources of data are required. It is compulsory for evaluation. 2c) Citations: Citations of some interesting articles previously published in our journals, and in other ones, is required, as we understand that a journal must be a set of related articles trying to advance knowledge. 2d) Econometric Methodology and selection of variables: It is very important. We recommend authors to read the article “Selected readings on Econometric Methodology”, free downloadable, published in Volumen 15-2 of our journal AEID, in order to avoid some frequent mistakes. This interesting article highlights some important questions related with the right interpretation of causality tests, the perils of econometric models with a mix of variables measured as rates, ratios, total values and per capita values (what very often lead to bad adjustments and inadequate signs), the effects of missing variables on the interpretation of a model and other important questions. If authors do not receive acknowledgement, within 2 month after delivery, they should revise if the article fits to these important rules, and may ask to the Editor. More information about methodology at: http://www.usc.es/economet/recommendations.htm |
3) Subscription orders. Year 2018 is the last year to order subscriptions. Institutions subscribed in year 2018 will have also complimentary on line access to the articles of years 2019 and 2020. |
General information: The Editorial team and referees work for free and are very busy. We try to help authors and do our best but we cannot promise punctuality in the printed edition. In order to avoid delays in selection we must limit the number of individual correspondence with authors. Information to authors will be usually made through lists of accepted articles at the Status section of the journal Website, or at our Blog. Individual messages to authors are usually limited, accordingly to points 1a) and 1b) or to suggestions for revision. We expect author support, to our journals, in several ways: institutional subscription, on line readership of our articles and citing of interesting articles of our journals when they publish in other journals. |
