The entire Atlantic corridor is linked by motorway or dual carriageway. The A-9 toll road joins A Coruña, Santiago de Compostela, Pontevedra and Vigo . This toll road also extends southwards to Portugal (via Porto and Lisbon ).
From Madrid , there are two possible routes. Via the north, by means of the Northwest Dual Carriageway (formerly the N-6), which links with the aforementioned A-9 motorway 20 km from A Coruña. Via the south, by means of the Rías Baixas Dual Carriageway, which crosses the province of Ourense and links, just before Vigo, with the A-9 again. You can also exit the dual carriageway at Ourense and travel to Compostela along the N-525 road.
Its bus station (Address: San Caetano, no number, Telephone: (+34) 981 58 77 00) provides connections with the main Galician municipalities, and important Spanish and European cities.
At the very centre of the city we also find a railway station (Address: Rúa do Horreo, no number,Telephone: (34) 981 52 02 02), connected to the main Galician and peninsular cities. Two daily trains link with Madrid (Talgo and Expreso). A single change is all that is required to reach, on a daily basis, Barcelona , Hendaya and Paris, and almost all national destinations of importance. There are frequent communications along the Atlantic corridor from A Coruña and Vigo.

The international Airport of Lavacolla (Address: Santiago-Lugo Road, km 11. Lavacolla, no number, Telephone: (+34) 981 59 75 50) has connections to several continents. It is located only 10 kms away from the city centre. This short distance goes through a modern motorway. At the airport there is a bus service (1.80€) to General Pardiñas street, and also a taxi stand (16€). There are other nearby airports, with international flights, in A Coruña (60 km), Vigo (90 km) and Porto (220 km).
Its air-traffic network features national and international flights by the companies Iberia, Spanair, Air Europa, Air France and British Airways, which operate in Lavacolla Airport.
