Chemistry Open Days

On the ocassion of the celebration of the International Year of Chemistry, the CIQUS organizes the Chemistry Open Days, with the objective of transmiting to society a current view of chemical research, and the fundamental role of this science in the global scientific and technologic development. The planned activities include spectacular experiments and demonstrations to show the "magic" of chemistry, the visit to a real chemistry lab, the utility of sophisticated scientific instruments, and a poster exhibition showing some of the research lines of the center from a basic informative view. Morning sessions have been organized in coordination with the Faculty of Chemistry and will receive 600 students from schools in Santiago and surroundings. Evening sessions are open to the general public.
