Our article Towards ratiometric sensing of amyloid fibrils in vitro has been accepted by Chemistry - A European Journal. In this paper, we propose the use of a new fluorescent probe for the detection and quantification of amyloid-β fibrils in vitro. The main advantages of this probe over those in use nowadays are: a) its sensitivity, which facilitates the quantitative determination of fibrils in solution, and b) its dual fluorescence, which allows for the use of a more simple ratiometric method. The dual fluorescence is due to an intramolecular proton-transfer process.
