Job Offer for a Scientific Communicator (Ref. 2019-PG063, Convocatoria Pública 12/2020)

The Centre for Research in Biological Chemistry and Molecular Materials (CiQUS) of the USC is hiring a Scientific Communicator to join the Centre’s Research Support Unit.
 

Work to be performed: 

Support to scientific outreach and communication activities within the CiQUS’ Strategic Scientific Project: 

  • Planning, coordination and implementation of outreach activities for scientific dissemination.
  • Support for writing of contents for the communication of the scientific activities of the centre.
  • Management of social networks (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn,...).

 

Contract details: A full-time employment contract (35 h per week) for a period of 12 months (which can be extended). €1800 Gross per month (14 payments per year).

 

Requirements and achievements

  • Bachelor’s degree in scientific majors (Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology), in journalism or in Communication Sciences.
  • Academic training at the master’s degree level in scientific communication or similar.
  • Complementary training in the field of social networks, scientific dissemination, etc.
  • English (level B2 or higher).
  • Accredited experience in outreach activities for scientific topics, aimed at the society and the educational field: organization of workshops, seminars, exhibitions, etc.
  • Accredited experience in scientific journalism and/or communication.
  • Accredited experience in virtual outreach activities, scientific blogs and online educational projects on scientific topics.
  • Personal interview.
