During the last week the Post-Doc Researcher Anandasagari Arcot Rajashekar, from the Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements (IRMM), has been trained by the Prof. Rivadulla Research Group at the CIQUS.

The objective of this training, as she explains, is, “In order to broaden the method of thin film preparation, we are investigating Polymer Assisted Deposition (PAD). Prof. Rivadulla and PhD. José M. Vila Fungueiriño taught me their expertise and also let me have hands-on experience with experimental procedures and analysis”.

The IRMM, founded in 1957, is one of the seven institutes of the Joint Research Centre (JRC), a Directorate-General of the European Commission. IRMM has chosen the Prof. Rivadulla´s Lab because of their recent outstanding results in the field of PAD. Dr. Anadasagari is working in the target preparation group “Standards for Nuclear Safety, Security and Safeguards”, where various targets such as 6LiF, 10B or 235U are produced.

The IRMM develops and produces world´s leading reference materials, develops and validates methods of analysis, organises interlaboratory comparisons, carries out chemical reference measurements and measures and evaluates neutron data.
