CIQUS helds the International Congress on Science and Technology for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage

The International Congress on Science and Technology for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage, 2-5 October 2012, will bring together researchers and scientists not only from the art-history-conservation-maintenance-restoration areas but also architectural-chemical-physics-engineering areas, in order to stimulate cooperation and integration between otherwise heterogeneous fields.

Organized by the Spanish Network on Science and Technology for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage (Technoheritage), the objective of the congress is to create an interdisciplinary forum for discussion on all aspects of cultural heritage conservation, providing at the same time an up-to-date and comprehensive picture of the state-of-the-art of investigations.

The ultimate aim is to promote networking among European research teams and strengthen the foundation of scientific and technological research, overcoming the barriers of exchanging information on coordinated research applied to the protection of tangible cultural heritage in Europe.

There are 8 special guests from differente countries (UK, Italia USA y España) who will give plenary lectures about some of the more important topics related with Heritage science and technology. Additionally, over 64 oral communications from more than 10 different countries are scheduled, together with lots of posters.

Congress have been organized by  Massimo Lazzari´s Research Group, University of Santiago de Compostela, togehter with unvaluable colaboration of Antonio Martínez Cortizas (Faculty of Biology) and Felipe Criado Boado (CSIC-Incipit).
