A recent article by M. Eugenio Vázquez, Miguel Vázquez and co-workers, in collaboration with researchers at CIB-CSIC Madrid, Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona and Kitasato University (Japan), has been selected as inside cover of Chemistry- a European Journal last issue. This work (Chem. Eur. J., 2012, 18, 7030-7035) decribes the stereoselective formation of chiral metallopeptides.
The chirality of a metallopeptide is determined by the chirality of a single proline amino acid (D- or L-P) located between the two coordinating 2,2′-bipyridine residues. The researchers describes the synthesis as well as the structural elucidation of the complexes.
