Three new Center for Research in Biological Chemistry and Molecular Materials (CiQUS) researchers are now under the Oportunius programme: María Giménez, Diego Peña and Manuel Souto. Together with Yolanda Prezado (CiMUS) and Carlos Sebastián Villasante (CRETUS), they were the leading figures in a meeting promoted last week by the Galician Innovation Agency (GAIN) at CiQUS that served to report on the latest incorporations to this distinguished programme of the Xunta de Galicia, focused on attracting and retaining top-level talent. The meeting was attended by Patricia Argerey and Mª José Mariño (GAIN), the directors of CiQUS, José Luis Mascareñas and Dolores Pérez, and the directors of CiMUS and CRETUS, Mabel Loza and Mª Teresa Moreira respectively.
CiQUS now holds 4 of the 17 researchers assigned to the Oportunius Programme: Javier Montenegro, Manuel Souto, Diego Peña and María Giménez. All of them have benefited from European Research Council (ERC) research grants and their frontier projects contribute to raising the scientific excellence of the Galician research and innovation sector.
