Last week, CiQUS held a two-day scientific retreat in Allariz. On September 26th and 27th, the picturesque Galician town hosted an event that brought together Principal Investigators and Ramón y Cajal researchers from the center. This unique initiative, outlined in the 2023-2027 Strategic Plan, aims to generate new ideas while promoting cohesion and collaborations among CiQUS members.
The retreat began with a review of scientific priorities by the center's directors, who provided a clear vision of the objectives and challenges to be addressed in the medium term. The program included numerous presentations by researchers, detailing advances in their respective lines of work, which led to highly enriching discussions among those present. The activity strengthened collaboration between researchers and promoted the emergence of new synergies among them. In addition to the scientific sessions, participants enjoyed social activities that fostered team cohesion. Highlights included a tour of Allariz's historic center, guided by the town's mayor and the councilor for culture, and a walk along the Santa Mariña de Augas Santas route.
This retreat exemplifies CiQUS's commitment to creating an environment that nurtures scientific innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration. By providing a space for researchers to share ideas and forge connections outside the traditional laboratory setting, the center is investing in the future of its research community and the potential for groundbreaking discoveries.
