We seek a talented Postdoctoral researcher to work in Cooperative Bimetallic Catalysis


RESEARCH TOPIC

The group of Dr. Martín Fañanás-Mastral offers a Postdoctoral position within the field of Organometallic Catalysis and Organic Synthesis.

The general goal of our research program is to discover new synthetic avenues for the development of sustainable and atom-efficient C-C bond forming reactions and its application in the synthesis of highly-valuable compounds.

The applicant will work on the development of novel metal-catalyzed reactions with the aim to develop synthetic methodologies based on the use of readily accessible materials and the minimization of waste production. We will mainly explore methods involving cooperative bimetallic catalysis.

a) “Synergistic Copper/Palladium Catalysis for the Regio- and Stereoselective Synthesis of Borylated Skipped Dienes”
 
b) “Copper(I)-Catalyzed Tandem Carboarylation/Cyclization of Alkynyl Phosphonates with Diaryliodonium Salts”
 

REQUIREMENTS

We seek outstanding individuals with initiative, creativity and team‐working ability, with PhD in Organic or Inorganic Chemistry and training in synthesis and organometallic chemistry.

High quality publications will be highly considered. Good communication skills and proficiency in written and spoken English are essential.

Hold a PhD degree obtanined inside the EU. Otherwise, the applicant has to provide a homologated certificate.

 

STARTING DATE AND TERM

The position is available starting from December 2017 / January 2018 for a fixed-term of 1 year, with the possibility of extension.
