Pre-selection: 2 Research Associate Positions at CiQUS

The CiQUS is seeking top-notch, passionate scientists to apply for a compulsory pre-selection process of the University of Santiago de Compostela, prior to an upcoming Call to be announced by the Galician regional government. 

The official call for the pre-selection of candidates for 10 Research Associate positions at the University of Santiago de Compostela, has been already published in the USC website (download here) and will be open until 10th January 2020 at 23h59 CET (UCT + 01:00)

This step is mandatory and prior to the upcoming Call of "Distinguished Researchers Program" of the Xunta de Galicia (modality of "Talent Attraction"). In this modality, each Galician University will pre-selects a maximum of 10 candidates, adding up to a maximum of 30 candidates for the 10 positions offered.

We aim to identify the candidates who could fit within our profile and current research needs. Research areas at CiQUS include Biological and Medicinal Chemistry, Functional Materials and Synthetic Technologies (see www.usc.es/ciqus/en/research-areas). Candidates with an excellent career trajectory in any of these subjects may apply. 
 
We will especially welcome applications from female scientists and/or experts in Computational Chemistry with interest in establishing collaborations with our experimental research groups.

Contract Conditions  

• Four years contract and a gross salary of 50,000 Eur/year. Contract includes work accident insurance and full access to the Spanish public health care system for the candidate and his/her family.

• Additional funding of 40,000 Eur/year to starting up their own research line.

• The estimated starting date is May 2020.
 
 
Eligibility  

• The candidates should have earned their doctoral degree after January 1st, 2007 (maternity leaves and other special situations will be considered).

• The candidates must have at least four years of postdoctoral experience, two of which must be abroad. With regard to this requirement, stays in the country of birth or nationality, or in the country in which the candidate obtained his/her bachelor's degree or PhD, will not be considered.

• The candidates should not have been hired by any Galician university during the last 24 months.
