Call for Part-Time Master Project Contracts at CiQUS 2019

RESEARCH INITIATION CONTRACTS FOR CiQUS’ MASTER STUDENTS

CiQUS offers 12 part-time research contracts for the development of initiation research activities associated to any of our main cooperative or strategic research lines.

RESUME

The Centre for Research in Biological Chemistry and Molecular Materials (CiQUS) was born with the vision of becoming a reference research centre distinguished by the excellence and impact of its scientific work and its commitment to the demands of society.

Our students participate in cutting-edge science in a research centre that provide first-class facilities and an international and exciting scientific environment. The training programme includes lectures by internationally renowned researchers, internal seminars, scientific and technical workshops, as well as courses of transferable and management skills.

We offer 12 part-time research contracts for the development of research Master Projects at CiQUS. Selected graduate students will receive a gross salary of 670 €/month.

For 10 months, they will enroll a dynamic international environment, working in cutting-edge research areas as well as actively participating in all the scientific activities at CiQUS.

 

 
STARTING DATE AND TERM
Contracts will start from mid October 2019 for a fixed-term of 10 months.*

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor’s degree or previous equivalent degrees
  • Applicants must be enrolled in one of the following master’s programmes at the University of Santiago de Compostela during the 2019-2020 academic year:

- Chemistry at the Interface with Biology and Materials Science, Organic Chemistry, Chemical Research and Industrial Chemistry, Drug Research and Development, Theoretical Chemistry and Computational Modelling, Physics, Biomedical Research.

  • Applicants selected must provide, at the time of signing the employment contract, a signed letter of engagement to perform their Master Dissertation at CiQUS, under the supervision of one of the CiQUS' Researchers.

APPLICATION

Applications can only be submitted electronically via the University of Santiago de Compostela website using the application form found in the following link [https://sede.usc.es/formularios/solicitudes/contratacion.htm]. The application should be addressed to R&D Calls and Human Resources Service, before September 30, 2019 at 23:59 h (CEST), providing the following documents:

  • Pdf document of the curriculum vitae, highlighting the merits that are established as assesment criteria and that are set out, for each specific position, in the annex to the call.
  • Copy of the Academic Record of the corresponding University degree which provides access to Master studies. An official translation to Galician or Spanish is required for international Academic Records

SELECTION AND AWARD CRITERIA OF THE FELLOWSHIPS

Applications will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

  • Academic marks in the Bachelor's degree. Up to the 80 points. 
  • Curriculum vitae, including publications, poster and oral communications at conferences. Up to 20 points.

* The contracts may be extended for up to an additional 5 months period for those students enrolled in the Master in Chemistry at the Interface with Biology and Materials Science (90 ECTS), upon accreditation of enrollment in the master's program during the 2020/2021 academic year
