Post-doctoral Position in CHEMICAL BIOLOGY / BIOCHEMISTRY within project ERC-StG 'DYNAP'

17/12/2015

The group of Dr. Javier Montenegro is seeking for a Postdoctoral associate with strong background in CHEMICAL BIOLOGY / BIOCHEMISTRY. This is an excellent opportunity to join the project DYNAP, a cutting-edge research funded by the ERC-Starting Grant.

The aim of DYNAP is to identify, at the molecular level, the minimal topological and structural motifs that govern the membrane translocation of short peptides. A covalent reversible bond strategy will be developed for the synthesis of self-adaptive penetrating peptides (adaptamers) for targeted delivery.

DESCRIPTION

The applicant will be involved in the biochemical characterization of novel membrane penetrating and bioactive molecules, including transfection, internalization pathways, localization, function, etc.

REQUIREMENTS

  • We seek outstanding individuals with initiative, creativity and team-working ability and with a PhD in Chemical Biology, Biochemistry or Molecular Biology.

  • Experience in cell biology, cellular uptake and transfection mechanisms, lectins and membrane proteins and/or peptide synthesis will be highly considered.

  • Good communication skills and proficiency in written and spoken English are essential.
