Vacancies at BioNanoTools Group (Supervisor: Dr. Beatriz Pelaz)

The Group BioNanoTools will open soon three Postdoctoral Researcher positions for material scientists and related scientific profiles and one Technical position for lab managing and administrative support.

 

Postdoctoral Position 1:

Description

  • Research topic: nanomaterials, nanobiotechnology and nanotoxicology. The postdoctoral researcher will be involved in the research activities of the REAP project (https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/101016964).
  • Research Center: CiQUS, University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain).
  • Research Group: BioNanoTools
  • Starting Date and Term: April 2021. One-year contract that can be extended.

Requirements

  • PhD in Biotechnology/ Nanobiotechnology/ Materials Science / Chemistry or related area. Expertise in nanomaterials synthesis, characterization and bioapplications.
  • Excellent academic and scientific record.
  • Previous background or training in nanomaterials´
  • Surface engineering  will be particularly valued. International postdoctoral experience will be highly considered.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment is a must. Passion, initiative and team‐working ability. Strong commitment for scientific excellence in a highly competitive environment is required.

 

Postdoctoral Position 2:

Description

  • Research topic: nanomaterials, nanobiotechnology and nanotoxicology. The postdoctoral researcher will be involved in the research activities of the SWIMMOT project (https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/899612/es).
  • Research Center: CiQUS, University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain).
  • Research Group: BioNanoTools
  • Starting Date and Term: April 2021. One-year contract that can be extended.

Requirements

  • PhD in Biotechnology/ Nanobiotechnology/ Materials Science / Medicine/ Chemistry or related area.
  • Expertise in nanomaterials synthesis, characterization and nanotoxicology.
  • Excellent academic and scientific record.
  • Previous background or training in nanomaterials´ surface engineering and interaction of nanomaterials in cell cultures will be particularly valued. Previous experience in European Projects is highly desired.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment is a must. Passion, initiative and team‐working ability. Strong commitment for scientific excellence in a highly competitive environment is required.

 

Postdoctoral Position 3:

Description

  • Research topic: DNA-technology, nanobiotechnology nanomaterials. The postdoctoral researcher will be involved in the research activities of the SPACING project (ERC-2020-StG).
  • Research Center: CiQUS, University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain).
  • Research Group: BioNanoTools
  • Starting Date and Term: April 2021. One-year contract that can be extended.

Requirements

  • PhD in Biophysics/ Biotechnology/ Nanobiotechnology/ Materials Science / Physics/Chemistry or related area.
  • Expertise in DNA-technology.
  • Excellent academic and scientific record.
  • Previous background or training in nanomaterials will be particularly valued. International postdoctoral experience will be highly considered.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment is a must. Passion, initiative and team‐working ability. Strong commitment for scientific excellence in a highly competitive environment is required.

 

Technician Position:

Description

  • Laboratory manager: duties include research and management support. He/she will be involved in the duties related to the SPACING project (ERC-2020-StG).
  • Research Center: CiQUS, University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain).
  • Research Group: BioNanoTools
  • Starting Date and Term: April 2021. One-year contract that can be extended.

Requirements

  • PhD in Physics/ Nanobiotechnology/ Materials Science / Chemistry or related area.
  • Expertise in nanomaterials synthesis and characterization.
  • Previous background or training in nanotechnology, including the synthesis of inorganic and organic nanoparticles (i.e. MOFs, gold nanoparticles, magnetic nanoparticles, polyelectrolyte capsules, etc.) will be particularly valued.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment is a must. Passion, initiative and team‐working ability. Strong commitment for scientific excellence in a highly competitive environment is required.
