Campus Housing

The Organizing Committee is holding a block of dormitory rooms for students at the University Residence Halls placed on the University Campus Vida, 10 minutes’ walk from the conference location. At this moment, the Organizing Comittee has some rooms available for all participants. If you want to reserve a room, please contact ecmi2016@usc.es before 26th April 2016. No rooms will be available after this date.

University accommodation will be allocated on a first come first served basis, and the number of rooms is limited, so reserve your accommodation as soon as possible. The rooms are blocked from 11th to 18th June (both dates included).

Prices

The prices quoted below are per room per night and include breakfast and taxes.

  • Single room (Student rate): 25€
  • Double room (Student rate): 43€
  • Single room (Normal rate): 35€
  • Double room (Normal rate): 62€

Instructions for housing request

Accommodation in University residences will be arranged through the conference secretariat. Please find below the steps to follow:

  1. Request campus housing. If you are not registered yet,  please fill in the corresponding boxes in the Registration Form and send it to ecmi2016@usc.es. If you are already registered, contact directly ecmi2016@usc.es indicating the dates of your reservation, full name and passport/ID number.
  2. Within a few days, you will receive an e-mail confirming if there are still rooms available or not.
  3. If there are any rooms available and in order to ensure your placement, you must send a bank transfer with the total amount of the accommodation  fees to the account number indicated in the Registration Form. Please mention ECMI 2016 conference and the full name of the participant in the bank order. Payments should be made in euros. Any possible transfer fees are on your charge.
  4. Finally, upload a copy of the bank transfer for campus housing through your private link.
  5. Notice that it is possible to do only one bank transfer for both registration and campus housing. In that case, please mention Registration and campus housing on the bank transfer.

Important information

The University Hall assigned to each participant will be provided through your private link. Due to administrative reasons, this could not be inmeditately done, but in any case no later than 30th May 2016. This confirmation must be presented to the desk staff of the Residence Hall upon arrival.

Any changes in the status of your campus housing reservation can be checked through your private link and will  also be notified by email.

In order to guarantee the university accommodation, the total amount of the  accommodation fees should be paid before 15th April 2016  27th April 2016.

Cancellation policy

The payment for University Halls will be refunded (except possible bank charges) if written notice of cancellation is received before 27th April 2016. No refunds will be processed after this date. For administrative reasons, all refunds will be conducted after the conference.

Housing information

Each dormitory room is equipped with a shower or bathtub, bed linens, pillow, blankets, bath towel, hand towel and soap. Rooms are serviced twice or daily during the stay depending on the rate (student or not) : bins emptied and towels changed when necessary. Linens can be changed twice during the stay. Irons can be requested at the front desk.

There are common lounge areas in each residence hall for informal gathering. Each building has vending machines and coin-operated laundry and tumble dryer machines on the lower level. The residences are elevator-equipped. Children of any age can be accommodated. Please note that rooms are not air-conditioned, but the buildings are usually cool enough. It is possible to receive phone calls at the residences from 8.00 am to 10.00 pm. Messages will be taken by the front desk staff and posted in the lobby.

Check in
To collect your room keys you must go to the reception at your Residence Hall before 22:00. If there were no staff at the reception in the San Clemente residence hall, please go to Fonseca (next door). From 22:00  there is no reception staff, so please find the security guard in Fonseca Residence Hall and he will give you the keys.

Check out
Before 11:00 on the departure day. If you need to store your luggage until your departure time, there is a room available to do so.

Internet access
All the University Halls are internet access facilities. Username and password will be given with the keys.

Breakfast
Breakfast will be served either in RU Monte da Condesa (for participants lodged in this Hall) either in CM Fonseca (for  participants hosted in the other University Halls).

Parking at the Campus
The City of Santiago controls street parking and has metered parking available throughout the campus. Campus-parking is not free.  Prize is around 3 euros per day.

Bus service
Schedules Bus Airport-Santiago route (Freire company).
Approximate price Airport-City: € 3.00. The bus stop at “Doutor Teixeiro” street. Then you can get a taxi.
